My basic goal is to treat you as I would like to be treated when I visit other sites, so here is what I do. I do not collect email addresses. If you leave a comment on a post, you are asked for an email so I can respond. If you send me a question or request a quote, I will need the email to answer you, but I do not keep these addresses in a file to use later. I will never sell your personal information. The following paragraphs detail what kind of information is collected when you visit.
As with other websites, I collect and use the data contained in log files. This would be your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider), the browser you used to visit the site, the keywords you may have used to reach the site in a search, the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site. I use this data to help me improve the site.
If this site is tracking you to adjust for your personal preferences, that is news to me. I have no reason to place a cookie on your computer. I sometimes assume that a cookie is placed on your machine if you bookmark a page or perform some similar task.
I do allow comments where another visitor can track back to your site, but you do not need to mention that you have a website if you do not wish to do so. I do not edit your comments. I will delete a comment that appears to be spam, or a comment that is inappropriate to the nature of the site.
About the Advertisements
I do have a separate sheet which goes over the advertising policy specifics, but I wanted to mention it here do to the fact about the cookies used.
You can chose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in an internet security program. This may affect how you are able to interact with this site as well as other websites. For example, this could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into the forum or an account.
